John and Christian adapt for the stage their favourite childhood cartoon which they have also totally made up.

Battle Counters! is an ancient yet simplistic game, in which the aim is to merely count more counters than your opponent. The result is an action-packed comedy adventure of epic proportions! There’s original music, dance routines, and literally thousands of counters.

The show’s protagonist is Cal Counters, a 15-year-old boy with a dream to be the greatest counter ever (whatever that means). He’s been raised by his Mom in Letterville, but when he discovers a tragic secret, Cal must embark on a quest to Countovia to avenge his family’s fallen legacy and find his dad.
However, to do so, he must take on the deliciously evil Count Numbers and his fearsome Battle Counting Robot! John plays Cal, and Christian plays basically everyone else.

John and Christian are an emerging comedy double-act, making popular online content (their sketch ‘Your New Favourite Indie Romcom’ was shared on BBC socials) and their own podcast, ‘Real Album Reviews’. ‘Battle Counters’ is their debut double-act fringe show and was developed as part of Soho Theatre Labs.
