BATTLE CRY & THREE KINGS

Two one-man plays performed by Steven Cowley.

Battle Cry – Friday 16th January

When you’ve witnessed the worst things imaginable, the world can never be the same again. Battle Cry is a one-act, one-man play, based on the true stories of former soldiers battling PTSD.

As the play opens, we realise that former soldier Adam’s life has never been easy…but is he too proud to ask for help? Would he rather try to cope in the only way he knows how: at the bottom of a bottle? Is it too late?

Relevant, real and unflinching, Battle Cry reminds us that asking for help maybe the toughest battle of all.

Three Kings – Saturday 17th January

When Patrick is eight years old, his absent father returns unexpectedly for a brief but memorable
encounter. Years later- recalling that meeting and the revelations that followed, Patrick traces
the events of his father’s life, laying bare a journey of grandiose plans, aching disappointments
and audacious self-delusion.

Three Kings by Stephen Beresford is a heart-breaking and hilarious play about fathers and sons,
the gifts and burdens of inheritance, and the unfathomable puzzle of human relationships.
Performed by award winning actor Steve Cowley and written by the BAFTA award winning
screenwriter of Pride.
